Flowers for Today

The Bridal Veil, Clerodendrum wallichi is a native of India. It lives up to its common name . The white blooms hang over its dark green leaves, giving the plant a spectacular appearance. After flowering, the plant sheds its leaves and looks like a bundle of sticks, but soon it starts putting out leaves. It flowers 3-4 times in a year.
The red Passion Flower is from tropical America. The beautiful flowers bloom throughout the year.
My thanks to the team of Today's Flowers for bringing joy every Sunday.

ABC Wednesday- F

The frogs in my frogpond have disappeared now....
I hope they may be hiding  among the Fuchsias, or...
in the dried up stone fountain,
 or eating fungi... or
they might have followed the faithful in their fantastic trip!
Fearful of the frogs' fate though I am, fortunately I have a  fun filled fare in ABC Wednesday, thanks to the fair lady, Mrs.Nesbitt and the fantastic Roger.

Flowers of the Rain

Thunbergia fragrans has white flowers to attract pollinators during the dull days of the rainy season.
Rutya has a bright orange colour, with black markings to show the pollinators the way.
The purple flowered Thunbergia erecta is aptly called the King's Mantle. My thanks to the team of Today's Flowers where you can see what is flowering in other places.

E for the Earth

Euthalia butterfly, a denizen of the planet Earth, feasting on a half eaten papaya.
The Earth is reverenced as mother by the Hindus, who offer ceremonial water to her at the sea.
Enchanting waterfalls encourage the enthusiasts to explore.
Rice fields full of the goodness of the Earth.
The lofty Himalayas ensure plenty of rains for the region.
My thanks to Mrs.Nesbitt and the ever encouraging Roger, as well as the enthusiastic team of ABCWednesday.

Today's Flowers Striped Amaryllis

This flower gave me a pleasant surpeise by blooming now, when the other Amaryllis lilies are busy producing vegetative growth in the rain.
My thanks to the team of Today's Flowers for this wonderful meme.

Dahlias

Dahlias  always dazzle in a flower show.
Neither delicate nor demure, dahlias dare to flower in all seasons.
Double or single, they are all beautiful.
My thanks to Mrs.Nesbitt and others of ABCWednesday team who make our days special!

Today's Flowers- Scented Flowers and Plain Flowers

Butterfly ginger flowers have a spicy scent.
 Impatiens has no scent...
 nor has this anthurium.
But the balsum which is growing wild, has a faint scent.
These flowers are in every garden during the monsoon season.
My thanks to the hosts of Today's Flowers for bringing out an edition to cheer , week after week.
