The X factor

A coracle ride in the  river Cauvery can throw up some thrills. It is called the x-factor. That crocodile was gliding swiftly, away from our boat, to our relief.
With thanks to the team of Our World Tuesday, Michelle of Nature Notes, Mrs,Nesbitt and Roger of ABC Wednesday, I invite you to visit those wonderful memes.

Wild Flowers of the Monsoon

Now that the Monsoon has set in, there is heavy rain every evening in my part of the world. Gardens and parks are lush and green. There are wildflowers on the outskirts of the city. The yellow Rattlepod attracts butterflies and bees.
The Melastoma is called Black Mouth because the mouths of the children who eat the berries turn black for a while!
The Ipomea flower closes as soon as it is pollinated by bees, Conservation of energy!
The East Indian Screw flowers arebrightly coloured and full of nectar. Ants, bees and bumblebees besiege it.

My thanks to the team of Our World Tuesday, which I look forward to reading every week.
I also thank Mrs.Nesbitt who started ABCWednesday and the wonderful Roger and his team.

Valparai -the Tea Country

Tea is called the cup that cheers. Valparai is a place in India synonimous with tea.
Miles of precious rainforest have been felled to make place for the plantations of tea.
Stunted alien looking trees dot the tea gardens.
You can come across some wild flowers at the edge of the plantations.
There are tiny pockets of the old rainforest in some places.
With thanks to the team of Our World Tuesday and Mrs.Nesbitt and the team of ABCWednesday, I am linking with them.

U for Unusual

A girl about to jump from the 250 feet Macau Tower was an unusual sight for me.
The beautiful blossoms of the Prairie Rose - Lisianthus  were never seen before by me. The blue variety looks like blue rose.
Thanking the UK based Mrs.Nesbitt and the USA based Roger and his team for the undoubtedly interesting ABC Wednesday  , and the team of Our World Tuesday.
