Justicia for Just Today

 Justicia aurea has bright , golden yellow flowers . It blooms in the shady corner of my garden, like a golden torch.
 Its cousin, Justicia carnea has a bright pink hue. It also prefers shade.

Flowers of the Monsoon season

 Reinwardtia indica with its bright flowers is blooming in my garden now.
 Hoya carnosa with its scented flowers perfumes the garden.
The Spider lily needs no care during drought- it puts out hundreds of flowers during the rainy season.

A for Ananda

 Today is the day to start a new series, and what better word to start it with than Ananda, which in Sanskrit means Joy? Here are some things which bring joy to the beholder.

 The Amazon Lily with its allure would alleviate any ailing heart.
The Arrack pot with its contents brings Ananda to the artist.

Today's Flower- Milk and Wine Lily

 Like the Rain lily, the Milk and Wine lily Crinum zeylanicum also flowers whenever there is rain. My garden is now full of these large beauties.
 It is also known as Milk and Honey lily. Its local name is Sudarshan, meaning 'Good looking'. This native lily has great medicinal value in Ayurveda.

 The English language has some negative connotations associated with the colour yellow like 'yellow journalism', 'yellow livered' , 'yellow rag', and so on. But nothing lifts up the spirit more than yellow flowers when you are feeling 'blue'.
