Colville's Glory Colvillea racemosa looks equally spectacular in the park. The bright red buds make a stiking contrast to the yellow flowers.
The feathery green leaves of the tree are an added attraction.
The Colvillea racemosa tree can reach a height of 40 feet. It is a native of Madagascar, and it has been named after a former governor of Mauritius.

Who would not like to participate in Mysore Dasara?! Gorgeous flowers on an elegant tree!
ReplyDeleteI don't think we have them, but they are surely beautiful. The leaves are almost the same with our Delonix regia or fire tree, maybe it is also a legume.
ReplyDeleteThey are just such a fabulous sight when they're dripping with flower sprays! Great photos.
