I like Ixora

Ixora is a wildflower of the rainforeests of the Western Ghats. It was named Ixoraby the Portuguese because they saw the local people of Goa offering it at the temple of Ishwara.
The gardener can get many colours of Ixora except blue. With thanks to Mrs.Nesbitt who initiated ABCWednesday, and to the inimitable Roger and innumerable others in the team.

  3. Your pink is pretty! I've got the reddish/orange. It is a survivor. It grows at the back of the property with no care from me except pruning. It's at least 10' tall, and I just trimmed it back from overhanging a path I could no longer get down. :-)

Neat info as to where the name came from.

  7. I think of wildflowers as being poppies, lupines, and flowers up in the Sierra Nevadas. So, it's hard for me to wrap my brain around the fact that flowers in the rainforests are also considered wildlfowers. LOL
