All gardens here are full of yellow and red flowers, but one longs to see cool colours in this heat. The Petrea is a sight for sore eyes.

The Matchstick plant is blooming in the shade.

The flowers of the common Asystasia have purple and white markings.

The deep purple flower of the Thunbergia erecta.
Hope it will rain soon and the weather will become cooler.
That matchstick plant is really odd looking. I like it!
ReplyDeleteThose are some of my favorite flowers! I have the King's Mantle in my garden! One of my favorites.

ReplyDeleteThe Petrea flowers are one of my favourite blooms ... I have this climber in my garden as well as the Aechmea, the Matchstick plant. I love purple in the garden and your photos show some lovely purple hues.

ReplyDeleteIs teh Matchstick Plant a bromeliad? I have some that look like that. And I just bought a Thunbergia erecta last fall. I kept it in the greenhouse during teh cold weather because I am not sure if it is hardy here. Purple flowers are lovely:)
