Wild Places in Mumbai

I came across this board as I was walking along an unfrequented path in the campus of IIT Bombay, in Mumbai. This sign is to warn the students not to venture into the jungle beyond. But boys will be boys, and many do venture out there in the dark, just for a lark!
My thanks to the team of Our World Tuesday.

  3. Interesting. Were those two glistening spots at bottom right in the pic the eyes of a panther waiting for you to enter its domain?:)) I hope not!

  4. there are lots of places, esp at iit where ppl are warned not to enter.. but as u say, boys will be boys :( and accidents happen too, unfortunately... there used to be crocs for example, in the lake.. dont know if they are still there though.. and thats why the boating was discontinued, because a couple of daredevils decided not to wait for the boatman and went off by themselves, and even got hurt... same thing happens on the vihar side too... ppl go swimming without any idea of the depth!

  5. I wonder how many don't come back! Young people think they are indestructible. Nice sign.

  7. Hi lotusleaf,
    Wow, amazing warning sign!!
    Panther lives near the campus.
I hope this sign does not fire adventurous spirits of boys.
    Best wishes,
