The river Cauvery has a small island called Rangan Thittu, which is the nesting place for many birds from distant lands. Last Sunday, we visited the place and saw some birds which had not yet gone back to their northern homelands. The Open-billed Cranes were not scared of our boat as we rowed silently towards them.
The crocodile came alongside our boat for some time. I saw some more crocs sunning themselves on rocks, but they were too far away.
You can see great pictures from all over the world at Our World Tuesday
Cool sighting and shots of the Cranes. They are cool looking birds. Thanks for sharing your world.
ReplyDeleteLove the cranes! I don't know if I would want to be in a rowboat with a croc though!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the cranes. I would be freaking out if a crock was following along my boat.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing ~ FlowerLady
lovely photos! I think that first one of all the cranes on the rock is particularly nice.
ReplyDeleteWhat delightful captures of your lovely world! I do love the cranes! I'm intrigued by your being so close to the crocodile -- but probably only because I'm not there!! Hope your week is going well!

What a beautiful place that must be! I loved the shots of the cranes. As for the croc near the boat...that's SCARY!!
ReplyDeleteYou are in such an interesting part of India. I am on my way back after only 2-1/2 months home in the San Francisco area. I arrive Mumbai on the 19th and head to Jaipur after four nights in the big city. I have a month there...and the possibility of staying my whole five or six months there as my base! I love Jaipur and was lucky to rent a room from a friend at a reasonable rate. Wish I could get down your way.
ReplyDeleteI love the 2nd photo.
ReplyDeleteWow! It looks like an amazing place.
ReplyDeleteNice shots of the handsome and interesting looking cranes!
