Today's Flowers

The drought we are reeling under does not seem to affect the bougainvillea. They are blooming brightly everywhere.
The Queen's Tears Russelia looks fragile, but it is quite a hardy plant , able to withstand long periods of drought
This light mauve bougainvillea looks prettier than its picture.
This is my contribution to Today's Flowers.

  1. i love the mauve bougainvillea. we call the queen's tears "pepsi-pepsi"--it has a sweet nectar that we sipped when we were kids.:p

  2. Both the Russelias and the Bougainvilleas are fantastic drought and heat tolerant plants. Isn't it great that they also look fantastic! I just love the colour of that light mauve Bougainvillea.

  5. All of them are wonderful. I wish I could have a bougainvillea here in Sweden....I have tried several times.

  6. I love your blooming russelia. I transplanted some off-shoots from my old garden to my new home one year ago and it has not bloomed at all. I am getting rataher exasperated with it.
