Bixa shrubs are planted along some roads in my suburb. An edible red dye is made from the pods.
Canna indica now comes in dwarf sizes. I was pleasantly surprised to come across this old fashioned, long legged beauty in a vacant plot.
Now that it is raining everyday, the Crinum lilies are blooming profusely in my garden. They also have 5 foot long stalks.
My thanks to the team of Today's Flowers, where we can see what is blooming in different parts of the world.

ReplyDeleteI like the first shot. More so if its was done in macro ;-)
ReplyDeletePiękne i ciekawe kwiaty, a szczególnie pierwszy. Pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and interesting flowers, especially the first. Yours.
so beautiful... these would be delightful to share with I Heart Macro too:-)
ReplyDeleteI like the more traditional, tall cannas much more... The little ones always strike me as rather stunted and ragged-looking.
ReplyDeleteSome lovely blooms ! Our Cannas have just started flowering here in the UK, although a lot have been hit by a virus which stunts their growth and stops them flowering.
