Today's Flowers

Bixa shrubs are planted along some roads in my suburb. An edible red dye is made from the pods.
Canna indica now comes in dwarf sizes. I was pleasantly surprised to come across this old fashioned, long legged beauty in a vacant plot.
Now that it is raining everyday, the Crinum lilies are blooming profusely in my garden. They also have 5 foot long stalks.
My thanks to the team of Today's Flowers, where we can see what is blooming in different parts of the world.

  7. I like the more traditional, tall cannas much more... The little ones always strike me as rather stunted and ragged-looking.

  8. Some lovely blooms ! Our Cannas have just started flowering here in the UK, although a lot have been hit by a virus which stunts their growth and stops them flowering.
