Coffee Flowers

 My coffee plant has brought out a few flowers for the first time. This is the season for coffee flowers, which make the coffee plantations in Coorg and Wayanad sell heavenly. The flowering season lasts for a very short time, like the cherry blossom season in Japan.

 I was lucky to visit a coffee plantation in Coorg when the whole place was awash with flowers. The flowers smell like jasmine, they don't have a coffee fragrance!

 Unlike the tea plantations, the coffee plantations are ecologically friendly, as many other plants thrive there.

Freedom and Flowers

Freedom to visit any garden and eat whatever fruit I want is my birthright!

 Fortunately, the fabulous Fuchsias hold no fascination for the monkeys.

This foot path on the Living Root Bridge  is famed to be four score decades old.

ABC Wednesday- E

 As children, we learnt E for Elephant. Elephants carved in stone are a common sight at the entrance of temples.

Elephants walk majestically on the busy roads of Mysore, while the traffic waits respectfully at a distance.

 The enigmatic temples of Khajuraho are famous for their erotic sculptures.

Flowers for Today

 The Amazon Lily has just started blooming. The flowers have a delicious scent in the night. They bloom twice a year in my garden- aren't I lucky!

 Thunbergia fragrans does not have any fragrance that I can smell:(

 Thunbergia erecta flowers throughout the year.

D for Design

 The  design on the dazzling silver doorway of a temple near Dandeli draws droves of visitors.

 Dhatura flowers have a delicious scent, a design by Nature, the master designer, to attract pollinators.

The Digging at Mandu by the Archeological Survey has a design.
The design on the roof of the 600 year old Queen's Bath in Mandu was developed to make a natural jaccousi for her.

Colville's Glory is a spectacular flower which blooms in the beginning of autumn.

 Chrysanthemum is on its last days of splendour.

 Mantids find the rose a good place to lie in wait for prey.
