Old Bridge across the Kapila
This is the century old bridge across the river Kapila near Mysore. It is no longer in use now. There is talk of making use of the bridge to exhibit ancient trains. You can see some of those old trains on it now.
Lovely old bridge, terrific reflections and a superb capture as always! Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Just a century old, and already abandoned? The Ponte de Linhares bridge in Panaji, Goa is nearly 380 years old and still in use!
ReplyDeletethank you for visiting my blog. Your blog is perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhat a VERY unique old stone bridge! You could link this to the Sunday Bridges meme, too.
ReplyDeleteThe bridge and the reflections are indeed beautiful! There's a river called Kopili in Assam. Almost similar!:)
ReplyDeleteoh it should be included in your country's heritage sites and must be preserved for another century still.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of the old bridge. I'm not participating in WF this week but thought I would drop by. Maybe to busy to visit next few weeks.
ReplyDeleteShailaja, this is a railway bridge, and railways started in Mysore state around 120 years ago.
ReplyDelete«Louis» took the liberty of adding this to Sunday Bridges.
ReplyDeleteI love the arches of the bridge and the red brick. Killing two birds with one stone - reflections and bridges! Cool!
ReplyDeleteA great idea, to display old trains on a disused railway bridge. Far better than abandonning it altogether and have it crumble into the river.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice looking old bridge and perfect for reflections!
