Watery Wednesday- Islands in the Sun

All this area was a thick rainforest before the river Sharavati was dammed. We can see the vestiges of the rainforest in the little islands in the lake.

  5. I imagine even these small islands are refuges to small creatures though there is very little land there.

  6. Very interesting post! But I'm a bit sad to learn that the rain forest disappeared under the water now. I hope the construction of the dam was really necessary, was it?

    Best regards,

  7. I agree, sad but beautiful at the same time. I wonder what scenery lies beneath the water. Guessing it too will be home to much life by now. Enjoy the rest of your week :-)

  12. That little island could be a pleasant place to get away from it all for an afternoon or a weekend.

    FANCY THAT!

    A hunter of all kinds of water
    Had neither a son nor a daughter;
    But ocean and sea
    Provided such glee—
    He fancied adopting an otter!
