Last Flowers of 2011

These are some of the flowers that are blooming now in my garden. There will be nothing left of the flowers on New Year's day, as the cyclone 'Thane' has reached the eastern coast. The Met office has issued warnings of severe storms in the next two days. The skies are overcast. Gloomy skies will not deter the young crowd from partying on New Year's Eve.
Wish you a very happy 2012!

  3. Wonderful captures for the end of the year. I certainly hope that you remain safe from the effects of the cyclone. The godo thing about flowers is that they are resilient and will always come back to bloom again!

I wish you all the best for the New Year: Health, prosperity, happiness!

  4. I hope there will be time for you you take the pelargoniums indoors before the storm hits. They are my most brilliant flowers in our winter, and cheer up my kitchen at the moment.fingers crossed that the storm will not harm anything.

  5. Lovely blooms!
Happy New Year from a fellow "tropical" resident. In Queensland, Australia we also have numerous tropical cyclones from November to the end of April.

  6. Such lovely flowers..and, yes, nothing seems to deter the young. I can't believe that, on Monday, I will already have spent four weeks in Mumbai. Time is passing too quickly to suit me. I need to see more of India but I still have several Royal Caribbean crew friends to see here before they head back to their ships.

Best wishes in the new year.

  8. Hope that storm passes by without too much damage. I would take those flowers indoors and photograph them for a few more days as cut flowers. Happy New Year!
