Jungle and its Denizens

The jungle attracts many people. Rudyard Kipling wrote The Jungle Book set in the jungles of India.
The jungle has plenty of hidden treasures like the Cobra lily above......
and the orchid Acampe which are used in Ayurvedic medicine.

The jungle also is the home of the shy Nilgiri Langoor which leaps from treetop to treetop.

  2. I like that orchid! We have a species that is quite common in our woodlands here that is very similar to the cobra lily that we call jack-in-the-pulpit.

  6. The jungle is very interesting with its flora and fauna! My daughter in Australia lives in a jungle in Queensland. Apart from the birds , marsupials and other mammals there are also a lot of snakes, most of them are very useful for they eat rats. Thanks for this post.
    Have a great week.
