Spring has come to this part of the earth, and in a short while, it is going to be blazing summer. The Dutchman's Pipe
Aristolochia ringens is producing some reluctant flowers now. They are the favpirite feed of some butterfly larvae. I hope there will be lots of butterflies later in the year.
The Shrimp Plant
Pachystachis lutea is full of chartreuse bracts now.
The white Amazon lily with its daffodil- like flowers perfumes my garden in the evenings.
The all time favourite of morning temple goers is the hibiscus. It is shyly putting out its flowers too.
My thanks to Carol for hosting Garden Blogger's Bloom Day.
Fabulous blooms. I'm rather taken with your yellow Shrimp Plant ... it's lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe Aristolochia is usually the larval food for the swallowtails. I have one the grandiflora struggling in the garden, and has only small flowers on it. A Happy bloom day to you Lotusleaf!
ReplyDeleteLovely blooms especially the bright Shrimp blooms. Happy Blooms Day!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see your photos from the tropics. I am in snow-covered Pennsylvania in the US, but managed to find some flowers. Happy GBBD, Carolyn
ReplyDeleteThank you for your magnificent photos. They are exotic. All of them are first time for me to see! I love the first one and am interested in the name," morning temple goers". Do people take these flowers as offering to go to temples? In Japan, soon Ume Japanese apricot will be in full bloom. I'll visit your site again to see beautiful flowers. Thank you for visiting.
ReplyDeleteThe Dutchman's Pipe is an unusual looking plant. So exotic! Always a pleasure to see your blooms...love the lily too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. Love the shrimp plant.
