The old bridge across the Cauvery in Srirangapatnam is 250 years old. Made of bricks and mortar, it is still strong, and used by villagers to a walk across. But modern vehicular traffic is not allowed on it. In the 18th century, the army of the East India Company marched across it to capture Seringapatam.My thanks to James for Weekend Reflections.
