The Franjipani seems to love this weather. The blooms are perfuming my garden in the night.
The Cardwell lily has very pretty leaves too.
This Amaryllis has bloomed for the first time in 5 years! It probably likes less water.
I am now seriously thinking of reducing the water guzzlers like the heliconia and gingers, and put in some drought resistant plants, as the water shortage seems to be permanent. I would like any suggestion from you.
You can view lots of lovely flowers at Today's Flowers.
Exquisite, colorful flowers and marvelous captures for the day!

What a lovely selection. It's hard to know what the climate is doing. We had such a long drought until a couple of years ago that I planted drought-tolerant plants, and now the last two years we have seen a real return to wet sub-tropical summers, so I am starting to phase the 'guzzlers' back into the garden again!
ReplyDeleteThese are indeed beautiful. my amaryllis are blooming too...I'll be posting soon. I hope the drought-like situation will be just a phase! The Cardwell lily has such dainty blooms!
ReplyDeleteI also hope that the draught in your region will be only a phase. Here in Europe the weather is sometimes quite extreme, too. Heavy rains and storms, drops of temperature and the like.
ReplyDeleteI have an amaryllis in in a pot in my living room, but is has not flowered for years. I keep is very dry, but that does not help, either!
BTW, your garden photos are lovely!
Your blooms are so lovely.

These are beautiful flowers. I always love the Frangipani. If I close my eyes I can remember its intoxicating scent. I hope the drought will ease with time. I don't know enough about flowers and hope you get the good advice you seek from our more knowledgeable blogging friends.
ReplyDeleteYour blooms are lush and beautiful. My pink amaryllis blooms quite regularly, just after the wet season preceded by hot dry weather. However, my crimson one has not flowered for about a year.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous shots!
ReplyDeletePlease keep in mind that you may post your flower photo entries on my Floral Friday Fotos meme:

I love gardening too. But, in the concrete jungle of Bangalore, in an apartment I can hardly do much! Your blog brings back memories of childhood that we had a huge garden and I enjoyed gardening with my Dad!
