Today's Flower- Milk and Wine Lily

Like the Rain lily, the Milk and Wine lily Crinum zeylanicum also flowers whenever there is rain. My garden is now full of these large beauties.
It is also known as Milk and Honey lily. Its local name is Sudarshan, meaning 'Good looking'. This native lily has great medicinal value in Ayurveda.
My thanks to the team of Today's Flowers, which brings joy to me every Sunday.

  5. Your Crinums are lovely. I grow Crinums here in the uk but they are hardy down to about -12 degrees, so I am wondering if they are the same ones. They certainly look identical !

  8. Beautiful. Also, I think "sudarshan" is a very fitting name for these. It sounds just as stately and formal as they look.
