Skywatch Friday

This is the 4th Century Shiva temple in Nanjanagud, on the banks of the Kapila. The sky gave no indication of the impending downpour in the night.
Unlike the temples of Tamil Nadu, this temple is painted in the hues of the sandalwood, which is endemic to this region. This temple houses the invaluable historic jade Lingam, an offering by Tipu Sultan, a former ruler of Mysore.
