The pretty palace did not pander to his vanity. Off he went to Peking....
perchance, he saw a pretty picture in Hong Kong.
The pastel coloured palace in in Mysore piqued him.
The poor man's palm- thatched palace won the prize!
My thanks to the team of ABC Wednesday.

ReplyDeleteEven pretty palaces cannot compete with a beautiful peacock. So unusual to see a white one.
ReplyDeleteA white peacock? I never seen one! Is is Albino or that's it's colour?
ReplyDeleteJust perfect for P! Late visiting from ABC Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteYou can find my Presidents of the United States entry through the link. Thanks!
Such a beautiful post! Your photos are magnificent. That white peacock is breathtaking. We have one at a ranch near here but I have not yet seen it with its tail feathers open.
ReplyDeleteThe white peacock is not an albino, but another variant of the peacock. Both the white and the coloured peacock are natives of India. The white one cannot survive in the jungle, it is only kept as a pet.
ReplyDeleteA travelling peacock!! Very nice collection of photographs!!

It is been great to find a Gloriosa rotschildinana in your header photo. I am sixty, the first one I saw in my life came ou of the blue, in our recently bought property 3 years ago. I have never see one anywhere else in Puert Rico, USA.
ReplyDeleteI asume they were fashionable in the vecinity 4 decades ago, as Pseuderantmun reticulatum, the 3 varieties found in streets near by but nowhereelse. Excellent blog.
