Today's Flowers : Gazania

Gazanias are a favourite of the gardeners of the Public gardens here, because they need not be watered daily. They are happy in the blazing sun too.

On a gloomy day, their bright faces cheer the passers by.
Gazanias are native to southern Africa. They were named after the 15th century scholar Gaza.






The pink gazanias are prolific bloomers .

    Radha, one has to look at the leaves as well as the flowers , as many flowers look similar.

  11. I agree that gazanias are pretty and reliable. Yours are particularly beautiful. I recently planted some white ones in the preschool garden (which I will feature in a post soon). They didn't do much for a few months and now, all of a sudden they are looking glorious.

  13. My yellow gazania is now blooming! You are right, the flowers brightens up the day and they love sunshine. Love the colours of yours. The pink one especially.
