Flowers for the Mahatma

Today is the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. In honour of him, I have I have put up three flowers which depict the qualities he prized . The Tuberose Rajnigandha symbolizes Truth.
The Rose of Sharon symbolizes compassion.

The rose symbolizes Simplicity.

  1. The life story of Mahmatma Ghandi was shown on the telly a few years ago. It was a fascinating and captivating film. For a man so simple with wisdom beyond his years, shook an empire with his words. Many have followed his example to triumph over oppression by means of peaceful resistance. Two people have come to mind, Martin Luther King the great civil rights leader and South Africa's Nelson Mandela. Your choice of flowers truly depict the purity of his qualities.

  2. Nice post for the Mahatma! Come to think of it, white is a subdued colour. But somehow it suddenly comes alive in flowers. I have a collection of impatiens in scarlet, magenta, orange, pink and white. It's always the white one which stands out!
