Blooming Friday- Colours of February

February is the month of transition in the tropics. Winter finally bids good bye and the short spring takes over. Some of the flowers start packing up, and some new flowers start appearing.
The sky blue flowers of the Plumbago have just started blooming. There is a wild white variety which grows wild in vacant plots.
The Crucifix orchid is putting out lots of buds now.

The orchid like flowers of the Water Hyacinth have started showing up. Perhaps they resent the restriction of the tub in which they are grown!

The last of the roses. With the days becoming hotter (it is already 33C in the shade) the roses are calling it a day.

The Barleria has also started packing up. It doesn't seem to like this year,s early summer.
Thanks to Katarina at Roses and Stuff for hosting Blooming Friday.

  5. For once I recognize a flower as one of my indoor plants: The Plumbago. I wish I could have that Barleria in my home or in my garden. Lovely! Have a nice week end!

  6. Sweet Bay, I'm sure you will soon have blooms to rival these!
Malar: Welcome to my blog. About the zinnia- mine also behaved the same way. It is only the native zinnias which give pretty blooms the second and thirdtime too.
Kyna, the plumbago is one of the few blue flowers in my garden.
    Fotochip, thanks for your comment.
Lillebeth, I did not know that plumbago could be grown as an indoor plant! Here it is in all the traffic circles. Have a nice weekend!

  9. A lovely rainbow of colors! The rose is beautiful! I enjoyed that plumbago photo. My plumbago isn't blooming right now, thanks to our Arctic Blast, but it should start up again in a couple of months.

  11. It's so interesting seeing what blooms in winter for you. The roses that are calling it a day there are just beginning to leaf out here. I love the water hyacinth flowers! I grow them in my pond as an annual, and for all the years I've had them only 2 have ever bloomed.

  12. The Water hyacinths are so lovely! Although I've learned they can easily grow too big. Still, they're beautiful!
I wish you a great weekend!
