Wow, it's butterfly time! The Monarch, Danaus genutia, is also known as the Striped Tiger in India. (But why 'striped' tiger, I wonder. Are there tigers without stripes, too -- like, say, a toothless tiger? :))

Picking a fav one is hard here :-)I always love to see the Monarch (one I never see in my garden) but I think it’s the Blue Tiger that is the one for me today. Your garden have so many type of colourful butterflies! But i'm always scared of caterpillars.....voracious eater!

Catterpillars can be a big nuisance. I have grown Asclepias in all odd corners to be a food for them.Thanks, Bernie. Some of the butterflies are from nearby vacant plots.They seem to love certain wild flowers.
