Weekend Reflections- Floating Rangoli
It is usual in South Indian homes to have a bowl full of water with flowers floating in it , kept at the hallway near the entrance. It denotes welcome and cheer.
I didn't know that you could do a rangoli on the water lily leaf :-D It's a pleasant surprise for me this morning. And that bowl of water with flowers... is pretty!
Sylvia and J Bar: Thanks for your comments. Bernie, I used some small berries and flowers for the Rangoli. Stephanie, any natural thing can be used to make a rangoli picture.Floating rangolis are made in Kerala on special occasions. College Gardener, Radha : Thanks for taking time to leave a comment. Barb, I hope you will show us your flower picture some day.
Delightful reflections and marvelous captures as always! Have a lovely weekend! Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteVery pretty... :)
ReplyDeleteVery innovative, the rangoli on the lotus leaf.
ReplyDeleteI like this flower tradition very much. I, too, often float blooms in water - I like melding the two elements, one supporting the other.

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these beautiful shots with us. Very nice reflections!
ReplyDeleteI like the Rangoli customs. The floating flowers as welcome are very pretty. I think I will copy it for a centre piece for the dinner table.
